Is it ok to cheat?

There's an interesting new feature from gmail that allows you to back date an e-mail. In other words, if I forget to e-mail someone on their birthday I can back date a message so it looks like I sent it at the right time.

For some reason, this makes me feel a bit dirty....

Gmail Custom TimeTM

Ever wish you could go back in time and send that crucial email that could have changed everything -- if only it hadn't slipped your mind? Gmail can now help you with those missed deadlines, missed birthdays and missed opportunities.

Pre-date your messages

You tell us what time you would have wanted your email sent, and we'll take care of the rest. Need an email to arrive 6 hours ago? No problem.

Make them count

Use your custom time stamped messages wisely -- each Gmail user gets ten per year.

that's weird and it makes me distrust email coming from gmail.

It's kind of like saying, "Oh, I thought about you yesterday," when I wasn't actually thinking about you until just this minute.

Hey - I thought about you yesterday when I was looking at a blog from the Learning 2.0 projects we've been doing at MCL. Do you still update your Twitter account?
