Wow. Anyone who works in a downtown urban library knows that lots of bad things here. Severe drug and alcohol problems, bathing in the bathrooms, sex in the buildings, abuse of staff. We all do our best to be kind and consistent and laugh about the worst of it.
But this is the first time I've heard of someone dying in the library. Horrible. The article and the comments have a lot of opinions about how we deal or don't deal with the homeless population but right now I just feel shocked and sad and scared that someday I will find a dead body.
