A French department store has hired men of all sizes to try on clothes for you. How often have you tried shopping for a man who is a bit bigger and not be able to remember his size? All you have to do at this store is pick the guy who's the same size as your guy and he'll try clothes on for you.

Now this is great marketing. The men are all volunteers so it's no cost to the store and they are extremely popular. Watch the video and notice how much business these guys are bringing in.
Not sure how this could translate to libraries. Maybe we have volunteers help patrons with readers advisory. Who would you rather have recommend a fantasy book? Me, who has to use an online database, or the volunteer who reads 3 fantasy books a week? He could dress up like Gandalf.
This might work better in a bookstore, though.

reminds me of when i worked at victoria's secret and men would come in with NO IDEA what size their girlfriend wore. One man suggested we have different sized fruit for men to grab to determine bra size. more than one man said "she's about a handful."
Too funny.
I was at VS once and a man was trying on clothes in the room next to me. Ahhh, Portland.
